Position: Welder-Fitter

Shift: 1st and 2nd

  • Experience with  metal fabrication
  • Must be able to read/interpret P&ID’s, schematics, engineered drawings
  • Strong mechanical aptitude required
  • Relevant experience includes assembly of components
  • Must be proficient with regards to ASME B31.3 Code requirements
  • Will be required to demonstrate welding proficiency: pulse MIG, STT, TIG, X-Ray, etc…
Job Responsibilities:
  • Fabrication of pressure vessels, structural skids, piping, etc…
  • Joining, fabricating, and repairing metal and other weld-able material by applying appropriate welding techniques
  • Laying out and fabricating precision welds and elements from blueprints and engineering concepts
  • Welding to ASME code and 100% x-ray
  • Inspecting completed welds to determine structural soundness
  • Working independently or as part of a team while making sound decisions and solving technical problems
  • Performing all job duties in a safe and efficient manner
  • Performing other functions/duties as required

Position: Lead Project Estimator - Contract Manufacturing

  • BS degree in Mechanical Engineering and/or Technical Degree is preferred but may be substituted with a well-rounded and documented technical background.
  • 3+ years overseeing estimating department, is required.
  • 7+ years’ experience as a project estimator for capital process equipment is required.
  • Experience with estimating welding, machining or assembly labor hours is required.
  • A working knowledge of ASME, API, PED, ANSI, AWWA and other related codes is also desirable.
  • Must have advanced proficiency in the use of MS Office products and high degree of comfort with mathematics required for large project estimating and profit analysis.
  • Must be able to read/interpret blueprints, P&ID’s and complex customer provided specification packages.
  • Knowledge of conventional fabrication methods, processes, material takeoffs, and fixturing is required.
  • Experience providing accurate estimates for projects including labor, materials and subcontracting is required.
  • Manufacturing experience is required.
  • Experience leveraging subcontractors and familiarity with metal fabricators, machine shops, stock material and component suppliers located in the WNY area is required.
  • Ability to communicate with other departments.
  • Must have time management skills and have the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Must be detail orientated, thorough and accurate.
  • Ability to multi-task several estimates and prioritize estimating group tasks to meet sales’ and customers’ deadlines.
  • Experience with Epicor ERP system a plus.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Work with customers and sales to select the most cost effective approach to meeting customer’s needs, including selection of system components such as process skids, valves, pumps, and instrumentation, and also working to define manufacturing methods.
  • Reviews and evaluates project estimator’s quotes to ensure they meet project specifications and budget requirements and then submits to sales for final review prior to submittal.
  • Assigns requests for quotation (RFQ’s) to project estimators in manufacturing services department and oversees their timely completion.
  • Ensures that estimating milestones and goals are being met and provides regular updates/status to sales on estimates.
  • Reviews and evaluates customer’s (RFQ’s).
  • Design/interpret blueprints, P&IDs and customer provided specification packages for accurate cost estimation.
  • Provide accurate cost estimates; including material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs for each project.
  • Obtains pricing for materials and bids from subcontractors.
  • Effective utilization of company standards in combination with coordination with other departments during quotation stage for scheduling, labor requirements, quality requirements and manufacturing processes.
  • Liaison with sales and customers on design concepts, product expectations and needs.
  • Review completed jobs for accuracy and maintain current estimating information.
  • Coordinate delivery dates with manufacturing.
  • Participate in "kickoff" meetings with project managers and manufacturing on new orders.
  • Develops and maintains resource information on products, vendors, subcontractors, materials, etc.
  • Create and monitor quote log status for department.
  • Perform necessary administrative work as well as documentation requirements.
