Position: Director of Quality Control

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, manufacturing engineering or business administration, or equivalent number of years of experience.
  • 10 years of experience in QA systems implementation and management, with 5 years as a CQE/CQM in a medium-size manufacturing environment.
  • Strong welding and fabrication background.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Must be detail orientated.
  • Must be ASME VIII & B31.3 experienced-(ASME U).
  • Experience with China Code and European Pressure Equipment Directive for pressure vessels is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with NDE is ideal.
  • Preferred Experience in ISO 9001:2015, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing.
  • Experience with electrical codes for industrial equipment (NEC, CE, IEC) is a plus.
  • Ability to read drawings / blueprints for complex fabricated assemblies and machined components.
  • Able to solve complicated problems and identify areas where processes need improvement.
  • Computer literacy with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project).
Job Responsibilities:
  • Maintain, improve and ensure compliance to Ascension’s overall quality program.
  • Manage QC personnel, which includes monitoring workload, assigning work, tracking/approving time off, completing and communicating performance reviews.
  • Provide quality and compliance input to support all departments relative to estimating, design, code compliance, manufacturing, testing and inspection.
  • Educate and train employees as to their role in the quality management system.
  • Work with Manufacturing to administer new hire weld testing and training.
  • Create, maintain enforce and implement ISO/AIMS and other procedures as required.
  • Manage current and future code accreditation programs (ASME, PED, China, TSSA, CRN).
  • Maintain National Board registration Logs.
  • Maintain China Code registration Logs.
  • Release and Update of ASME Quality Manual and issue Log.
  • Track and manage necessary registration/renewal processes.
  • Manage welding programs(s) (ASME, PED, WPS’/PQR’s/WPQ’s), welder qualifications, welder continuity and welder stamp log.
  • Perform new welder qualification and generate ongoing Welder Performance Qualification.
  • Manage Calibration Program.
  • Coordinate and monitor inside and vendor NDE, inspection and testing.
  • Participate in internal and external quality audits.
  • Schedule and coordinate third party inspector visits, to include collaboration with other departments to ensure preparedness across all functions.
  • Monitor vendor performance and establish criteria and rating system for critical vendors.
  • Establish supplier quality requirements.
  • Interface with supplier and customer quality representatives concerning problems with quality control and assure that effective corrective action is implemented.
  • Work with Project Managers in the development of Quality Action Plans and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Prepare document packages for customers and other third parties as necessary.
  • Create final customer and Code document packages (review /oversee requirements are meet).
  • Serve as the primary quality control resource for problem identification, resolution, and continuous improvement.
  • Design, implement and document procedures for process control, process improvement, testing and inspection.
  • Perform root-cause analysis and other problem solving activities to identify effective corrective actions and process improvements.

Position: Electrical/Controls Design Engineer

Qualifications:
  • A BSEE or Associates Degree with additional work experience (ideal candidate will have “hands on” electrical experience)
  • A minimum of five years demonstrated design experience.
  • Knowledgeable of the NEC Sect. 501
  • 3-phase systems motor control, VFD experience required
  • Understanding of process controls and instrumentation and experience in troubleshooting instrumentation systems.
  • Experienced PLC programmer using primarily Allen Bradley products. Specifically Micrologix, Compact Logix, Contrologix, and SLC500. Capable of setting functionality and communication with customer controls systems such as DeviceNet, Modbus, Profibus and Ethernet.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills to support design team, and shop cooperation.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with AutoCAD including high level functions, not just drawing tools, and Microsoft Office products.
  • Extremely organized and detailed oriented.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Programming PLCs - Micrologix, CompactLogix, and ControlLogix. Programming HMIs - PanelView Component and Panelview +. Capable of setting functionality and communication with customer controls systems such as DeviceNet, Modbus, Profibus and Ethernet.
  • Responsible for control panel design and specification of PLCs and HMIs.
  • Develop panel layouts drawings, schematics and BOMs for MRP system.
  • Creating ladder logic diagrams for PLCs.
  • Develop P&IDs, Controls Philosophy and Instrument/Valve Lists.
  • Perform final acceptance testing / checkouts; point to point checkout of electrical and control systems.
  • Selection of cable, cable trays, and conduit.
  • Assist shop personnel by resolving any possible problems or discrepancies that occur during the manufacturing process, such as interferences between electrical and piping designs.

Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of hands-on shop floor experience in manufacturing that can be applied to job estimates

Position: Jr. Manufacturing Engineer

Qualifications:
  • Associate’s degree in a technical or manufacturing field with at least 1-2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must have experience with manufacturing plant functions including machining, welding, pipefitting, assembly and material handling.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing / mechanical processes and equipment is required.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Works with Project Management, Engineering and Purchasing in determining make/buy/subcontract decisions as needed to develop BOM’s.

Position: Lead Project Estimator - Contract Manufacturing

Qualifications:
  • BS degree in Mechanical Engineering and/or Technical Degree is preferred but may be substituted with a well-rounded and documented technical background.
  • 3+ years overseeing estimating department, is required.
  • 7+ years’ experience as a project estimator for capital process equipment is required.
  • Experience with estimating welding, machining or assembly labor hours is required.
  • A working knowledge of ASME, API, PED, ANSI, AWWA and other related codes is also desirable.
  • Must have advanced proficiency in the use of MS Office products and high degree of comfort with mathematics required for large project estimating and profit analysis.
  • Must be able to read/interpret blueprints, P&ID’s and complex customer provided specification packages.
  • Knowledge of conventional fabrication methods, processes, material takeoffs, and fixturing is required.
  • Experience providing accurate estimates for projects including labor, materials and subcontracting is required.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Work with customers and sales to select the most cost effective approach to meeting customer’s needs, including selection of system components such as process skids, valves, pumps, and instrumentation, and also working to define manufacturing methods.
  • Reviews and evaluates project estimator’s quotes to ensure they meet project specifications and budget requirements and then submits to sales for final review prior to submittal.
  • Assigns requests for quotation (RFQ’s) to project estimators in manufacturing services department and oversees their timely completion.
  • Ensures that estimating milestones and goals are being met and provides regular updates/status to sales on estimates.

Position: Machinist (Large Horizontal Boring Mill)

Shift: 1st and 2nd

Qualifications:
  • 2-3 years programming experience on large, horizontal mills
  • 3-8 years relevant experience (experience in “job shop” environment preferred)
  • Ability to read/interpret engineered drawings and willingness to interface with engineering department

Position: Operations Manager

Qualifications:
  • BA/BS in industrial or mechanical, or a 4-year technical degree in related discipline. Business degree plus substantial manufacturing work experience will also be considered.
  • 10+ years’ of experience with large capital equipment and/or metal fabrication in a manufacturing environment.
  • 5+ years’ progressive leadership experience in a management role that included opportunities to plan, organize, control and lead manufacturing operations and resource planning.
  • Must have excellent leadership, management, planning and motivational skills.
  • Experience implementing quality systems and lean manufacturing practices is highly desired.
  • Project Management experience is a plus.
  • A background with welding and/or machining is desired especially in a job-shop environment.
  • Knowledge in materials management, quality control, manufacturing engineering and plant engineering also desired.
  • Experience working with process equipment, pressure vessels, design/build of skid mounted process equipment and liquid filtration equipment is required.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Assists Senior Management in the development and formulation of long and short-range planning, policies, programs and objectives for manufacturing.
  • Oversees manufacturing and ensures the shop is maintaining high standards of manufacturing operations and that products conform to established customer and company quality standards.
  • Achieves optimum employee levels with least amount of overhead and raw material costs to meet annual budgetary plan.
  • Works with shop management on monitoring shop overtime and indirect labor to increase productivity and product margins.
  • Identifies, recommends and implements changes to improve productivity and reduce reworking costs.

Position: Project Manager

Qualifications:
  • BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering (may consider other engineering disciplines with relevant process industry experience)
  • 5-10 years’ experience project engineering/technical project management
  • Experience with skid mounted process equipment (design/build)

Position: Shipping & Receiving Clerk

Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of related hands on experience in a shipping & receiving role for manufacturing.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Must be detail oriented
  • Must have basic computer skills – familiar with using ERP systems (Epicor experience a plus).
  • Ability to accurately sort, count, and verify items received.
  • Proficiency with tow motor operations

Position: Supply Chain Manager

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years’ experience in supply chain or purchasing management within the industrial manufacturing industry required.
  • Experience in the fabrication and industrial packaged systems industry is required.
  • Familiarity with industrial parts suppliers, machining and fabrication shops in the WNY area is highly desirable.
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills with a proven ability to create and maintain positive working relationships with vendors, suppliers, shippers, and customers.

  • Develop and maintain department performance measures, to include: purchase price variance, supplier performance (on-time delivery), maintain supplier qualifications and supplier performance scorecards.
  • Drive lean/continuous improvement throughout the supply chain, resulting in cost and lead time reduction as well as more streamlined procurement processes.
  • Lead cost reduction efforts through supplier selection and purchasing strategies.

Position: Welder-Fitter

Shift: 1st and 2nd

Qualifications:
  • Experience with  metal fabrication
  • Must be able to read/interpret P&ID’s, schematics, engineered drawings
  • Strong mechanical aptitude required
  • Relevant experience includes assembly of components
  • Must be proficient with regards to ASME B31.3 Code requirements
  • Will be required to demonstrate welding proficiency: pulse MIG, STT, TIG, X-Ray, etc…
Job Responsibilities:
  • Fabrication of pressure vessels, structural skids, piping, etc…
  • Joining, fabricating, and repairing metal and other weld-able material by applying appropriate welding techniques
  • Laying out and fabricating precision welds and elements from blueprints and engineering concepts
